Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for Erik Telford's Asilomar, a Big(ish) Band with special guest, Akina Adderley! Akina Adderley - Vocals Paulo Santos - Alto Sax John Mills - Tenor Sax Eric Hargett - Bari Sax Matthew Collins - Trumpet Santana Rojas - Trumpet Erik Telford - Trumpet Javier Stuppard - Trombone Joseph Hernandez - Piano Matt Berger - Guitar Aaron Allen - Bass Andy Beaudoin - Drums Largely know for his work in the groups Nori and Monte Warden and the Dangerous Few, Erik Telford presents his biggish band, Asilomar, for the first time at Monk's. The night will feature original compositions and arrangements, largely inspired by Erik's upbringing in the coastal California town of Pacific Grove. Erik has performed as a leader or sideman on four continents with artists such as Bill Berry, George Bohannan, Maria Schneider, Joshua Redman, James Williams, Jon Faddis, Wynton Marsalis, and Louie Bellson. He has been an artist at the Monterey, Montreux, North Sea, Melbourne, and Yokohama Honmoku jazz festivals. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! 22 free parking spaces onsite are first-come-first-serve. Doors at 7:45pm, Show at 8pm.
