His first release “The Fisherman” (2007) features Rob Kazanel and Chris Maresh and has been featured on “This American Life” with Ira Glass. Several of his compositions have been featured in film and television. His latest album, "Free Advice" (2024), showcases his mastery on the 7-string guitar. Rooted in Jazz, Darin’s influences of many genres are reflected in his collaborations and original compositions. This quartet offers a rich and diverse musical experience, blending Darin Layne's innovative guitar work with the dynamic contributions of Eric Hargett, Rob Kazanel, and Chris Maresh.
