Marco Antonio Santos - Guitar Eric Hargett - Saxophones Chris Jones - Double Bass Mike Gordon - Drums Marco Antonio Santos is a guitarist, arranger, composer, and music educator. Originally from Minas Gerais, Brazil, he is currently based in Austin, Texas. Throughout his 15+ years as a professional musician, Santos has performed extensively in Brazil and the United States, navigating freely between jazz, funk, pop and Brazilian music. He has developed a singular style that blends traces from his multiple musical influences, ranging from Radiohead and Bill Frisell to Maria Schneider and Brazilian legend Milton Nascimento. Santos holds a Doctorate in Jazz Composition from the University of Texas (UT Austin) and a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the same institution. He has performed alongside renowned musicians such as Nenê, Di Melo, Andre Hayward, Hilda Maria, and John Mills, among other great artists. In 2022, Santos became chair of the guitar panel at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), where he has been a member of the jury since 2021. In Spring 2023, Santos' debut album "About: Silence" was released by ears&eyesRecords, garnering rave reviews both in the US and internationally. Jazz guitarist Marco Antonio Santos brings his quartet for a tribute to the jazz guitar world, featuring music by Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Grant Green, Julian Lage, Toninho Horta, Bill Frisell, and others. He’ll be joined by Eric Hargett on saxophone, Chris Jones on bass, and Mike Gordon on drums. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB.
