Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for the Ken Vandermark Chicago/Texas Sound Ensemble! Ken Vandermark – Tenor Saxophone Jonathan Horne – Electric Guitar Stefan Gonzalez – Vibraphone Matthew Frerck – Double Bass Kory Cook – Drums Ken Vandermark will present new compositions exploring distinct melodic, rhythmic and architectural strategies for improvisers. Vandermark will work with Texas musicians Jonathan Horne (guitar, Austin), Matthew Frerck (double bass, Denton), Stefan González (vibraphone, Denton), and Kory Cook (drumset, San Antonio) in their new group Chicago/Texas Sound Ensemble that debuted last year as part of the No Idea Festival series at Monk's Jazz Club.
