Marcus is more than just an average drummer. Words used to describe Lil Marcus: Smooth, Beast, Monster, Musical Drummer. Marcus also plays Percussion and Trumpet. Marcus is the founder, leader, musical director and drummer of The Found Band in his hometown of Dallas Texas. If asked, “Who Marcus Jones sounds like in a list of established musicians, his style and technique are similar to George ”Spanky” McGurdy, Cleon Edwards, Aaron Spears, Tony Williams, Dennis Chambers, Billy Cobham, Robert “Sput” Searight, Chris Dave to name a few.” Style and genre of music: Jazz, R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop, Pop, Reggae, Gospel, Country, India, Rock, Experimental Music and Funk. Just a quick reference in to the life of professional drummer Marcus Jones. Marcus has played with The Found, Curren$y, RC & The Gritz, Chris Dave, Daniel Jones, Mike Mitchell & Rache’, Funky Knuckles, Cleon Edwards & Hungry Jaxx, Deaf2Radio, and Medicine Man Revival. Marcus has also performed with RZA, Erykah Badu, Eric McFadden, Eric Roberson, Avery Sunshine, Sy Smith, Dwele and Algebra Blessett. Marcus continues to study all genres of music, drum techniques and has now included producing and arranging to his repertoire. With a hunger and desire to expand on his style and performances, Marcus Jones aka Lil Marcus has become a brand and a musical drumming force to be reckoned with.
